Detractors of Smith and the grinning dude's shirt found the message disparagingly dismissive of the struggles that have necessitated the LGBTQ movement, and saw a premier potentially dog-whistling her support of that dismissiveness. Supporters of the shirt's message, at least found nothing wrong with the shirt, or of being proud of heterosexuality.
