Six academic researchers at institutions across the US authored a paper outlining a vulnerability they dubbed GoFetch, which leaks cryptographic data from the CPU cache that hackers can use to piece together a cryptographic key. GoFetch is a microarchitectural side-channel attack that can extract secret keys from constant-time cryptographic implementations via data memory-dependent prefetchers (DMPs).
