CSC Selects Cisco Intelligent Automation Software to Support Increasing Client Demand for Its Cloud Services

FALLS CHURCH, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

CSC (CSC) today announced that it is deploying Ciscos Intelligent Automation for Cloud solution to automate the delivery and management of cloud services to clients. CSC identified the Cisco solution as a vital component to support the companys cloud services business and by utilizing the software can automate the complex processes involved in cloud service delivery.

CSC is working with alliance partners like Cisco to provide an automation and management layer for CSCs off-premises and on-premises cloud models. By leveraging Cisco Intelligent Automation for Cloud, CSC is able to provide a self-service portal and service catalog that allow clients to quickly and easily order cloud infrastructure services online with on-demand provisioning, a workflow engine to automate tasks associated with orchestration and pay-per-use tracking.

Intelligent automation software from Cisco is fundamental to building our cloud services platform because it can automate the many procedures that span operations, and can integrate smoothly across heterogeneous environments, said Siki Giunta, global vice president, Cloud Computing and Software Services, CSC. It allows us to deliver self-service provisioning and orchestration across Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) as well as other existing systems.

CSCs infrastructure includes VCEs Vblock platform as a preferred infrastructure stack for cloud services, comprising Cisco (UCS) blade servers, Cisco networking components, EMC storage systems and VMware virtualization technology.

The demand for cloud services is accelerating rapidly, and CSC is benefiting from that growth, said Flint Brenton, senior vice president of Ciscos Intelligent Automation Solutions. In an effort to deliver cloud services faster and more efficiently, CSC saw the value in Ciscos intelligent automation software for provisioning physical and virtual infrastructure on the Vblock platform and other environments. The result is speedier deployments of cloud services to their clients, greater business agility, as well as a better way for CSC to track and control costs.

Automated self-service provisioning and orchestration are essential to delivering the agility and speed required in the fast-paced business of cloud services, said Bob Laliberte, Enterprise Strategy Group. Cisco Intelligent Automation for Cloud provides a compelling software solution to meet this need and help organizations like CSC fully realize the potential of Cisco UCS and converged architectures like Vblock.

Racemi Software Automates Migration of Windows Servers to Public Clouds

ATLANTA, May 23, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Racemi announced today its DynaCenter software can now quickly and easily migrate Windows server images to public cloud providers including Amazon EC2, GoGrid, Rackspace and Terremark. It also provides flexibility to move workloads from one cloud computing provider to another, as well as to a physical or virtual server - in any combination or direction.

In addition, the latest release, DynaCenter 4.2, updates support for CA's AppLogic 3.x cloud computing platform.

"Our software technology fully automates migration of server workloads with no application changes and no performance impact," said James Strayer, vice president of product management, Racemi. "It is without a doubt the easiest, fastest way to move workloads to, from, and between cloud providers."

Racemi makes its DynaCenter software available to cloud and IT software management partners to incorporate into their product offerings providing an easy way to add cloud-ready capabilities to offerings.

Workloads are migrated to the cloud by comparing the configurations of the source and destination servers, and then configuring the necessary cloud tools, virtual machine components, disk, and network layout "in-flight" to ensure that the image can be run on the target cloud platform. Unlike other technologies, Racemi's image-based provisioning software does not require modifications to the application.

With the automation capabilities in the DynaCenter software, significant time can be saved migrating to the CA AppLogic platform. Web hosting companies, managed service providers and cloud providers that leverage the AppLogic platform can accelerate their implementations and migrations while dramatically reducing their costs.

DynaCenter is licensed to Racemi partners. The 4.2 release will be available by May 31, 2012.

About Racemi

Racemi has been named a "Cool Vendor" and has received other industry awards.

The company builds server provisioning and cloud migration technology that allows businesses to quickly migrate their existing physical and virtual servers to, from and between cloud providers and across data centers. For CSPs (cloud service providers), Racemi is the fastest and best method for on-boarding customers to their cloud.
