For instance, suppose researchers need dataset to train an AI model that is not available readily or is insufficient, then they can employ Generative AI to create needed data for good predictions or analysis. Michael Jackson was wrong, it turns out. It does matter if you're "Black or White". Algorithms that constitute the top oxymoron of our times, Artificial Intelligence (AI), have affirmed as much in their latest avataar as cyber-cops. Last year, a popular YouTube chess channel called Agadmator got suspended for flouting the site's guidelines. The reason for this, it has just emerged, was the 'racism' detected by AI cyber-cops in the use of words like "black" and "white" in conjunction with terms of aggression like "attack". Cyber-policing is done sneakily, and offenders are not notified of their violations, so it took an Indian avid chess player and scientist, Ashique KhudaBakhsh, 38, six weeks of experimentation to identify what led to the crackdown.

Chess players, of course, are known for an ability to escape traps, but that is usually if they have a human mind at the other end. On the internet, short of playing with chess pieces acceptable to rule-enforcers (pink and grey, anyone?), they may find the going hard.

Defenders of AI will offer the usual defence: that AI is imperfect right now, but is evolving so fast--a language tool called GPT-3 has started writing what many geeks consider poetry--that its 'intelligence' will start showing up soon. This optimism is drawn from another prized contradiction in terms called Machine Learning. All this is part of a technological revolution to minimize the role of human judgement, which is seen as fallible at the best of times. Human folly, we are all acquainted with. What few care to explain is how algorithms designed, fed and taught by fallible beings can be infallible.

Steps taken by Government to use Artificial Intelligence for education transformation – The Statesman

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has recommended introducing contemporary subjects like Artificial Intelligence in the curriculum, at relevant stages. The National Council of Educational Research & Training (NCERT) has initiated the process for the preparation of a new National Curriculum Framework for School Education in pursuance of the NEP, 2020 during which the possibility of introducing an introductory course on Artificial Intelligence (AI) at secondary level would also be explored.

Meanwhile, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced Artificial Intelligence as a subject in class IX from session 2019-2020 and in Class-XI from session 2020-2021 in their affiliated schools.

Artificial Intelligence has already been applied to education primarily in some tools that help develop skills and testing systems. Artificial Intelligence can drive efficiency, personalization and streamline administrative tasks to allow teachers the time and freedom to provide understanding and adaptability.

By leveraging the best attributes of machines and teachers, the vision for Artificial Intelligence is one where they work together for the best outcome for students.

All AICTE approved institutions have been suggested to offer Artificial Intelligence as an elective in B.Tech. courses and also start B.Tech course in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science to augment the human resource in Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics. So far asthe Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are concerned,their Acts and Statutes allow them to have their own curriculum, academic & research collaboration with Institutions and Universities across the world.

Most of the IITs offer various Artificial Intelligence related courses such as Deep Learning Foundations & Applications, Foundation of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Probabilistic Reasoning in Artificial Intelligence, Predictive & Prescriptive Data Analytics, Deep Learning, System Identification, Cyber-Physical Security, Digital Image Processing, etc. Besides, IITs also organize short term programmes, inter-alia, on Artificial Intelligence for the working professional and interested students.

The AI Standards Working Group, co-chairedby IBM Watson Advertising and Nielsen, today released theguideArtificial Intelligence Use Cases and BestPractices for Marketing, which is intended to help executives, marketers, and technologists get the most from artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). The announcement was made duringthe IAB ILM annual conference.

The guide -- which provides dozens of working examples -- draws directly from the real-world experience of the co-chairs as well aspublishers, agencies, and ad-tech companies. Itincludes nine use cases that span internal robotic process automation and data migration for agencies as well as AI use cases for creative,contextual, video, and more.

David Olesnevich, head of product at IBM Watson Advertising, and IAB AI Standards Working Group co-chair, believes the work and the guideprovide a road map through insights driven by conversations about real-world challenges faced daily by some of the industry's largest brands.

The technology is able to extract your voice from traffic or other people talking in the car that could otherwise make it difficult to understand what a customer is ordering. The second half of the technology is understanding natural language and is able to get the meaning of what customers want exactly.

Doran said the Englewood location has been significantly impacted by the staffing hardships and would be a good location to adequately test the technology.

Its become increasingly difficult to have people want to work in restaurants for a variety of reasons. The obvious one is the pandemic and potential exposure and having to wear a face mask for eight to nine hours a day is another concern for a lot of people, he said.

With people still using caution when outside more people have opted for drive-thru restaurants to limit their interaction with people inside of businesses which can increase the wait time for customers. Number one expectation of customers when they enter a drive-thru is speed of service. So I viewed this as an opportunity to potentially address that issue, Doran said.

Implementing the technology wont cut hours or payroll for the location and if the employees and customers respond well to the technology Doran said they have plans to use it at at least four more locations.

Further, Mr. Temkin suggested that workarounds such as user tracking by email addresses will eventually fail as users demand tighter browsing privacy under an evolving regulatory framework.

Google also announced that its market leading Chrome browser will feature new privacy controls in April as the first step toward deeper privacy protections by default.
