Cloud computing advantages benefits, efficient server utilization
FiberLineCommunications.com Cloud computing advantages benefits, efficient server utilization Thank you for joining us for the latest in our series on the advantages of cloud computing. This week we will discuss the cloud computing advantage of efficient server utilization. Prior to the availability of virtualization and cloud computing, when a business needed computer applications, such as email, to improve their efficiency, they would need to obtain a server which would be dedicated to only one specific application. Each server costs between $3000 to $20000. As mentioned earlier, prior to cloud computing and virtualization, each application needed by your business, would require a separate server. Since most businesses require multiple applications, multiple servers often led to "server sprawl". If the public cloud is utilized, businesses can often completely eliminate the need for, and all of the expenses associated with, on-premise servers, while at the same time increasing their application options and flexibility. With cloud computing, businesses are now able to obtain flexible access to virtually any application without the need to invest in building and maintaining an expensive IT infrastructure.
