When Will OnePlus 7/7 Pro Get the Cloud Storage Service Update? – Phones Wiki

When OnePlus released OxygenOS 10.0.4 update for OnePlus 7T/7T Pro in late-October, there was something to get excited about. Despite being a minor 99MB-sized update, it offered something unique only for the Indian users Cloud Storage services for the Gallery app. The company had announced the rollout of Cloud Service for its phones at the launch event of OnePlus 7T series at London on October 10.

The Cloud Service for the Gallery app helps users to back up photos and videos on the cloud storage, thereby freeing up internal storage space. With the OxygenOS 10.0.4 update, OnePlus provided 5GB of free cloud storage to Indian users and an additional 50GB of free storage for the first year, after which, it will become chargeable.

When it comes to the OnePlus 7/7Pro, the company is going slower because there are reasons to do so. Soon after the release of Android 10 in September, OnePlus released two back-to-back open beta updates of OxygenOS 10.0 for the OnePlus 7 series but halted the rollout of the stable version of OxygenOS 10.0 for some time as the limited release of the version was littered with bugs.

It was in mid-October, after the launch of OnePlus 7T series with Android 10 out of the box, the company released the OxygenOS 10.0.1 hotfix update for OnePlus 7 series. Nearly after more than one month, the company released the OxygenOS 10.0.2 update for OnePlus 7 series in November. Finally, on December 12, OnePlus started rolling out the OxygenOS 10.0.3 update for OnePlus 7/7 Pro that included Android November Security Patch among other things.

Since OnePlus release OxygenOS updates in a staged manner, it is quite obvious that it would take a certain time for OxygenOS 10.0.3 update to reach all the OnePlus 7 series users in India. It is a pity that OnePlus is running behind schedule in pushing OxygenOS updates to 7 series devices since they are getting the November Security Patch in the middle of December.

The company seems to maintain a gap of around four weeks between the OxygenOS updates for OnePlus 7 series. If the actual rollout timeline is maintained like that, we believe OnePlus 7 series users will be able to get the OxygenOS 10.0.4 update with Cloud Storage services by the second week of January 2020.
