A&E, Reality Crowd Funding TV to film at One Spark festival

A crowd-funding enthusiast from Connecticut heads one of two groups interested in capturing the events of the upcoming One Spark festival on film.

Manolis Sfinarolakis, who is also a creator at the event, said he is making One Spark a reality television show. He said he will film a documentary-style reality show at The Landing during One Spark.

His One Spark project, Reality Crowd Funding T.V., is a web-based show that airs on http://www.RealityCrowdTV.com. Anyone who visits his projects display has the chance of being on the show.

But Sfinarolakis isnt the only reality television show being filmed at One Spark.

A&E has also committed to filming at the festival. Brian Meece, the cofounder and CEO of the crowdfunding website Rocket Hub, said an A&E film crew will accompany him at One Spark for a reality T.V. show on crowdfunding.

When I met with the A&E team, we hit it off personally, and they recognized our expertise in crowd funding, Meece said. We are excited about marrying our bottom up model in crowd funding to A&Es experience with rallying around projects and the top down model of broadcasting in traditional media.

Rocket Hub is a company that has helped thousands of artists, scientists, entrepreneurs and social leaders raise money through crowd funding. Meese said Its partnership with A&E has helped Rocket Hub gain its clients a large audience and millions in funding.

As opposed to the A&E show, Sfinarolakis project is in its infancy. From the New York area, Sfinarolakis has a Go Pro Camera with him at all times and is prepared to capture as many creator and spectator journeys at One Spark as possible.

Were trying to inform mainstream Americans that crowd funding exists, and its not just reserved for tech companies, Sfinarolakis said. By supporting Reality Crowd Funding T.V., you bring awareness to crowd funding, and youre helping people achieve their dreams who may have been declined by a bank.

Sfinarolakis said if he wins at One Spark, the funding he receives will help him go into the North End of Hartford, Conn., which is one of the most impoverished areas in the state and record reality. He said visible disparity will reach the hearts of Americans and compel them to act.
