A huge, five-story mural depicting Hungarian-American biochemist Katalin Karik will be created on a firewall in Budapest to pay tribute to the scientist who played a key role in the development of the mRNA Covid vaccines.

Next to Kariks portrait will be placed the motto The future is written by Hungarians announced the organizers of the future festival Brain Bar.
The artwork is designed and being created by the talented and experienced team of Colorful City (Sznes Vros), and is also supported by the Hungarian government.
The giant mural on Krisztina Boulevard will be completed by the launch of this years Brain Bar between September 9-10.
According to organizers Brain Bar aims to strengthen the ambitions of Hungarian youth and encourage them to actively shape the future. Year after year we bring role models to the festival who can inspire them to do this, but sometimes the role models are walking among us.
In addition to her academic achievements, Katalin Karik is doing Hungary a great service by proving to the next generation that we have a place among those shaping the 21st century, said Gergely Bszrmnyi-Nagy, the founder of Brain Bar.

The Hungarian biochemist, who emigrated to the United States in 1985, contributed significantly to the fight against the coronavirus as vice president of the Mainz-based company BioNTech by co-developing mRNA technology. She recently received the Szchenyi Award for her outstanding work.

The future festival Brain Bar was founded with the aim to discuss the future of humanity, both on an individual and community level. In previous years, guests have included star psychologist Jordan Peterson, paleontologist Jack Horner, and PayPal founder Peter Thiel.
