Child Prodigy and Grand Master R Praggnanandhaa beat World No. 1 GM Carlesen in the tournaments that took place in Miami recently.

The boy is barely 17 and he ranks No 2 in the world, already! He has five wins, two draws and one loss against the world chess champion, GM Carlsen. Grand Master R Praggnanandhaa is India's pride and here's what his father Rameshbabu told various media outlets about the boy's routine -- all in a humble and matter-of-fact manner.

As per their dad - the young Grandmaster Praggnanandhaa and his elder sister Woman GM (WGM) R Vaishali lead almost a sort of an ascetic's and the mother R Nagalakshmi told IANS that the brother-sister duo are "talking and breathing chess while avoiding other diversions". That's seen amply in the un fuzzled manner in which Praggnanandhaa plays, he does not allow his confidence to fluctuate, irrespective of who his opponent is.

A normal childhood for the child prodigies: Both Rameshbabu and his wife Nagalakshmi treat their children normally. "He might be a Grandmaster in chess, but, for me, he is always my little boy and I treat him as such," Rameshbabu told IANS.
