Nextech's InfernoAR is an advanced cloud-based AR video conferencing and video learning experience platform for events

NexTech AR Solutions Corp () () said partnering its technology with Fastly (NYSE:FSLY), which provides the edge cloud platform,had greatly enhanced user security for video streaming.

Fastly's edge cloud platform provides a content delivery network, Internet security services, video and streaming services.

Nextech's InfernoAR is an advanced cloud-based AR Video Conferencing and Video Learning Experience Platform for events.

"We were happy to work with NexTech AR Infernos team in bringing their JWT authentication to the edge,"Scott Bishop, who looks after sales inFastly said in a statement on Thursday.

"Our platforms design allows us to compute at the edge and authenticating JWT at this stage is exactly the kind of use case we envisioned. Computing these at the edge enhances both Inferno ARs security as well as performance. What we have achieved with InfernoAR is fantastic.

JWT authentication works by a server generating a token that certifies the user identity, and sends it to the client.

The client will send the token back to the server for every subsequent request, so the server knows the request comes from a particular identity.

Security is a core feature of InfernoAR, and the platform services many Fortune 500 companies, highlighted NexTech AR in the statement.

NexTech is one of the leaders in the rapidly growing augmented reality (AR) industry, estimated by Statista to hit $120 billion by 2022.

Evan Gappelberg, the CEO of NexTech AR described InfernoAR as a "category killer product" for NexTech.

Meanwhile, Fastlys customers include many of the worlds most prominent companies, including Vimeo, Pinterest, The New York Times, and GitHub.

NexTech AR shares in Toronto added almost 21% to stand at C$3.38each.
