Racemi Announces First-time Demonstrations of Windows Server Migrations to Public Clouds

ATLANTA, June 6, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- At the upcoming Cloud Expo, Racemi will demonstrate its online migration service Cloud Path that now makes migrating existing Windows servers to public clouds point-and-click easy.

The company will demonstrate for the first time how to quickly onboard existing Windows applications to cloud computing providers, like Amazon EC2, GoGrid, Rackspace and Terremark without costly professional services or rebuilding servers from scratch. The support for Windows servers is being added to the current beta of Cloud Path which already provides support for Linux servers.

Racemi is a Silver sponsor of Cloud Expo, which takes place in New York City from June 11-14. Attendees can visit Racemi's booth #337 and sign up for limited time, free online migrations as part of its beta program.

"We're getting great feedback from Linux users of Cloud Path," said James Strayer, vice president of product management, Racemi. "There is simply no faster, easier, or low-risk way to migrate existing applications to cloud computing."

The company's head of services, Adiascar Cisneros, who has spoken at packed, standing-room sessions before at Cloud Expo - will be talking on "Reducing the Cost and Complexity of Cloud Migrations" where he'll cover managing the migration process with minimal cost and risk. His session is on Wednesday (June 13) at 5:30 p.m.

Racemi CEO, Lawrence Guillory, will participate in a "CEO Power Panel: Cloud & Big Data Strategy Viewed through the Lens of Business Value" on Tuesday (June 12) at 7:10 p.m.

Racemi migrates workloads to the cloud by comparing the configurations of the source and destination servers, and then configuring the necessary cloud tools, virtual machine components, disk and network layout "in-flight" to ensure that the image can be run on the target cloud platform. Unlike other technologies, Racemi's image-based provisioning software does not require modifications to the application.

About Racemi

Racemi has been named a "Cool Vendor" and has received other industry awards.

The company builds server provisioning and cloud migration technology that allows businesses to quickly migrate their existing physical and virtual servers to, from and between cloud providers and across data centers. For CSPs (cloud service providers), Racemi is the fastest and best method for on-boarding customers to their cloud.

EFOLDER Introduces Cloud Recovery Service Supporting Both STORAGECRAFT And DELL APPASSURE Software Solutions

The new eFolder(TM) Continuity Cloud is the only cloud recovery service supporting both StorageCraft and Dell AppAssure image recovery from a single cloud services provider.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 05, 2012

eFolder is pleased to announce the general availability of the eFolder Continuity Cloud. The eFolder Continuity Cloud is a wholesale, add-on service delivered to eFolder partners that enables the fast recovery of servers in the cloud on an emergency or as-needed basis. The eFolder Continuity Cloud is the only cloud recovery service that supports both StorageCraft ShadowProtect and Dell AppAssure server image recovery from a single cloud services provider. eFolder is unique in the wholesale cloud services space by providing an open cloud backup and recovery platform that leverages multiple best-of-breed backup software solutions.

The eFolder Continuity Cloud complements eFolders complete cloud data protection services portfolio, including eFolder Backup, eFolder BDR, and the eFolder AppAssure Cloud. The eFolder Continuity Cloud allows managed service providers (MSPs) to recover client servers, applications, and data in eFolders cloud environment in the event of on-site disasters or server outages at client locations. eFolders partners can avoid the cost and complexity of building their own disaster recovery environment, while leveraging eFolders cloud to deliver premium business continuity and disaster recovery services to business clients. MSPs offering strict 24 hour service level agreements for server recovery are able to generate lucrative and highly profitable recurring revenue streams from demanding business clients.

eFolder is excited to offer partners an open cloud recovery service that supports the leading bare-metal imaging software solutions used by the IT channel, said Kevin Hoffman, eFolder CEO/CTO. This newest service underscores our commitment to delivering an open cloud platform that gives choice and flexibility to MSPs.

For more than two years, eFolder has leveraged the strengths of ShadowProtect to enable MSPs to deliver premium backup and disaster recovery services with the eFolder BDR service powered by StorageCraft, said Curt James, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for StorageCraft. Now the eFolder Continuity Cloud gives partners a powerful new tool to recover their clients ShadowProtect images in the cloud. Were very pleased to be part of the eFolder solution.

Unlike traditional cloud recovery services that force MSPs to make large, upfront financial commitments to the service provider, eFolder partners can access the eFolder Continuity Cloud with as little as a single client installation. eFolder charges partners a competitive, wholesale weekly rate only when they need the service, for instance, when a client suffers an on-site disaster like a tornado, fire, flood, or other major business disruption. eFolder partners also avoid the higher per-gigabyte fees some cloud storage service providers have traditionally charged for similar cloud recovery capabilities.

The eFolder Continuity Cloud nicely complements our use of the eFolder AppAssure Cloud, said Lliam Holmes, eFolder partner and CEO of MIS Solutions, Inc. in Suwanee, GA. Now, we can leverage Dell AppAssure software for server imaging, confidently replicate our clients to the eFolder Cloud, and recover either on-site at the client location or in eFolders environment. We think this is a winning combination.

eFolder partners may access a free trial of the eFolder Continuity Cloud by contacting their eFolder Account Manager. For other interested MSPs, solution providers, and VARs looking to join eFolder, visit

About eFolder eFolder is a leading supplier of cloud data protection, business continuity, and cloud security services for MSPs, solution providers, and VARs. Delivered as wholesale services to the channel, eFolder enables its partners to provide branded data protection and security services and to generate highly profitable, recurring revenue. eFolder services complement many of the managed services offerings already deployed by partners and integrate with common PSA systems, making adoption of eFolder services fast and easy. eFolder also empowers cost-effective partner and end-user private clouds, allowing partners to meet the needs of any client, regardless of size or readiness to engage in public cloud services.

Today's announcements include solutions for:

Introduced in April, HP Converged Cloud is the industry's first strategy and portfolio based on a single architecture that combines private, managed and public cloud, as well as traditional IT, to create an environment that can rapidly change based on organizational requirements.

Recent research conducted on behalf of HP suggests that by 2020, senior business and technology executives expect their organizations' public and private cloud delivery models to nearly double.(1) However, if not implemented properly, these delivery models could yield cloud silos, creating complexity, risk and vendor lock-in.

"Successful organizations need to be able to select the right delivery model for their technology needs whether it be in the cloud or on premise," said Bill Veghte, chief operating officer, HP. "HP's Converged Cloud approach provides enterprises choice in delivery model and platform with the confidence in the service delivered via market leading products, coupled with a consistent architecture and experience."
