Cloud Host ViUX Systems Launches Client Insights Portal

Cloud Hosting Provider Demonstrates its Customer Service Focus and Client Success Stories Through New Website Features

Raleigh, North Carolina August 8, 2012 ViUX Systems, Inc., a web host specializing in cloud hosting and server solutions, announces the launch of a new client insights portal on their website demonstrating their commitment to quality customer service. The new feature showcases detailed customer case studies highlighting ViUXs successes in helping clients grow their businesses with industry leading hosting and information technology solutions. At the same time, ViUX is also rolling out testimonials collection through Capture Reviews, a product review validation service that confirms the legitimacy and accuracy of online customer feedback. These new website features are designed to help potential users understand the ViUX difference and make a more informed buying decision.

The newly launched client insights area currently features customer success stories from two ViUX web hosting clients. The first, TwistedMedia.com, a producer of audio and visual elements for the entertainment industry, highlights ViUXs success in solving persistent and mysterious ColdFusion site failures. ViUX brought in an outside expert programmer to address performance and stability problems with the ColdFusion and MS-SQL database coding, and thereby bring uptime on the cloud server back to 100%.

ViUX did everything possible to troubleshoot our problem with ColdFusion and figure it out, says Derek Frederickson, Twisted Media, Inc. They really went out of their way and didnt hesitate to go externally to find a solution. This is not only appreciated but duly noted for how it makes a difference in the business relationship.

The second case study featuring BevelHeaven.com, a distributor of products and accessories for DUCATI Motorcycles, demonstrates ViUXs commitment to helping their users determine the best technology solutions for their specific needs. ViUX worked closely with Bevel Heaven to help them find a suitable PHP shopping cart solution using a MySQL database, Pinnacle Cart, and migrate to a cloud server set-up that was better equipped to handle the demands of the high traffic e-commerce site. ViUX also played a key role in helping BevelHeaven.com obtain full PCI compliance.

Im worldwide and when I send out an e-blast, I get thousands of people jumping on my site at the same time. With ViUX, it never crashes, shares Steve Allen, Bevel Heaven. Plus, my site is now just as secure as a bank or PayPal. It took work, but I got it done thanks to the support from ViUX. They have been an integral part of my success. Had I not had their service and good suggestions, I have no doubt my business growth would have been slower.

Customers can now select from private, public or hybrid offerings and have the flexibility to deploy their solutions in a Rackspace data center or another data center of their choice.

Rackspaces open cloud products also give application developers and IT organizations in businesses large and small the ability to build, test and deploy applications in the cloud for the first time without being locked-in.

Rackspace is disrupting the current model of how IT is consumed, said Lanham Napier, CEO of Rackspace. We have delivered on our promise to implement OpenStack in our cloud offerings, and to free customers from the vendor lock-in that they face at other major cloud providers. Were delivering open, high-performance, scalable and easy-to-use cloud solutions, while empowering customers to choose features, services, prices and locations based on the needs of their business. At the heart of Rackspace is Fanatical Support, which means we put our customers needs and wants first. Today, we are extending this approach by giving the market an open alternative, enabling them to choose how and where they use the cloud.

Rackspaces expansive open cloud portfolio includes not only Cloud Servers and Databases, but also Cloud Files object storage with a content delivery network, Cloud Sites platform as a service for .NET and PHP,load balancers, and monitoring.

Our experience with the open Rackspace Cloud products has been absolutely seamless, said Nand Mulchandani, CEO of ScaleXtreme. One of the things we found right away is that it is completely standards-compliant and we didnt have to make any changes to our OpenStack APIs. Also, the new control panel is much richer, much simpler and a lot faster than the previous version. Customers will find it a completely new experience, although the core functionality is familiar.

The new Cloud Servers powered by OpenStack deliver increased efficiency, scalability and agility to customers, who can launch as many as 200 reliable cloud servers in 20 minutes.

Cloud Servers highlights:

The new Rackspace Cloud Servers began delivering business value to us and our customers almost instantly, said Tom Lounibos, CEO of SOASTA. We were able to easily integrate them into our performance testing platform, CloudTest and we have successfully spun up thousands of servers for real-world online and mobile app testing. When we conduct testing around large initiatives such as the 2012 LondonOlympics, the ability to scale quickly is an absolute must. We are seeing what a difference the OpenStack API is making. Making API calls to spin up servers is so much faster now, and thats crucial for a performance and load testing solution like SOASTA.

FireHost Unites With Dyn to Advance DNS by Way of Secure Cloud Hosting

DALLAS, TX and MANCHESTER, NH--(Marketwire -08/01/12)- FireHost, the secure cloud hosting company, and Dyn, managed DNS and Email Delivery experts, have partnered to boost infrastructure and customer reach for both companies. FireHost is the only public cloud company that Dyn entrusts with its hosting needs while Dyn becomes the exclusive DNS provider for FireHost customers.

FireHost will benefit from Dyn's best-in-class DNS products. Building Dyn's products into FireHost's current lineup will allow the two companies to synchronize in the creation of affordable and secure business continuity solutions for their customers. These new, packaged products will be added to FireHost's secure cloud hosting solutions and will start to be announced in the forthcoming weeks.

The unification will appeal to the needs of SaaS providers, and companies with HIPAA and PCI compliance needs, which makes up the bulk of FireHost's current customer base.

"Prior to partnering with FireHost, Dyn relied upon a globally deployed in-house infrastructure to support its hosting needs. To convince the internal team to move to a different provider other than ourselves was a major hurdle; however, FireHost's fully managed services were extremely appealing to us," said Kyle York, CRO at Dyn. "It was of utmost importance to Dyn to partner with a secure host that could deliver enterprise-grade security and performance for ultimate uptime, as our tagline is Uptime Is The Bottom Line. We are looking ahead to a continued, strong partnership with FireHost."

Additionally, FireHost is helping Dyn fuse together secure, reliable hosting and caching content on the edge, which allows Dyn to create a highly effective content delivery network. Dyn's Web performance has enjoyed 4X improvement due to FireHost's performance enhancing features built specifically for cloud environments. Dyn operates 17 of its own data centers worldwide with at least two more coming online in 2012.

As FireHost also continues to expand to data centers around the world, Dyn will be utilizing these to further increase redundancy and continue to improve performance of its Web infrastructure in new regions.

"Dyn is an ideal partner for FireHost. Our infrastructures are complementary and together we achieve the most secure, redundant, scalable and innovative platforms available anywhere," said Bruce MacFadyen, COO at FireHost. "We're excited to unveil our soon-to-be-released products and look forward to a long and expanding relationship with Dyn."

PayPerCloud(TM) Revamps Network With Ethernet Fabric and 10 GbE to Meet Growing Demand

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire -07/31/12)- (BRCD) Cloud hosting provider PayPerCloud ran its business on a mix of servers and storage connected with various network switches operating at 1 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE), but the aging infrastructure was unable to scale with its growing business. The company was running out of physical ports and experiencing performance issues. It needed a 10 GbE solution.

After evaluating several solutions, PayPerCloud replaced its infrastructure with a Brocade Ethernet fabric that includes Brocade VDX 6720 Switches and Brocade MLX Series routers. The comprehensive solution from Brocade delivered the performance, scalability and reliability PayPerCloud needed, as well as the design, installation, service and support.

PayPerCloud relies on Brocade VDX 6720 switches for 10 GbE top-of-rack server connectivity. These connect to Brocade MLX-16 routers in a Multi-Chassis Trunking (MCT) configuration, enabling network-level virtualization and enhanced network reliability. A Brocade MLXe-4 chassis resides at the edge of the network and supports connections between servers and storage, as well as 10 GbE Internet connectivity. SAN storage arrays connect to Brocade MLXe-16 chassis to provide storage connectivity to the various environments.

California-based PayPerCloud -- specializing in creating a high-availability, cloud-hosting infrastructure and cloud-enabled applications -- has since launched VaultScape, an online backup service, based on its new storage capabilities. The Brocade network infrastructure allows PayPerCloud to easily support new customers on the bandwidth-intensive backup service as it continues to grow. PayPerCloud subsequently grew its customer base 81 percent in 2011, and orders are currently up 160 percent for 2012.

PayPerCloud also increased its server-rack density from eight servers per rack to 12, a 50 percent increase, and expects to reduce power consumption by approximately 60 percent. "Now we have half as many cables to manage," said Miles Feinberg, president of PayPerCloud. "And VM management takes a lot less time with Brocade Network Advisor."

The Brocade Automatic Migration of Port Profiles (AMPP) feature ensures that a consistent port profile is applied to all VDX switches in the fabric. Whenever there is a VM motion event, it dynamically configures the switch ports to ensure that VM traffic experiences consistent policies and configurations. PayPerCloud is leveraging AMPP with Brocade Network Advisor, a graphic user interface (GUI) based network management tool, to automate a previously manual process.

This incredible growth was almost upended by the company's aging network. "When we moved to pure hosting services, we discovered our weak points," said Feinberg. "Brocade helped us architect a plan that fulfills our business goals, and service and support have been great."

What Is an Ethernet Fabric?

Compared to classic hierarchical Ethernet, Ethernet fabrics provide higher levels of performance, utilization, availability and simplicity. Moreover, they have the following characteristics:

"The interest in Ethernet fabric offerings and customer adoption are all on the rise. Customers want to migrate to an Ethernet fabric with minimal disruption to current operations. An access layer-based approach addresses the pains that drive many to look at fabrics to begin with: the latency and unnecessary load on core switches that is incurred without the risk associated with a 'rip and replace' strategy. The right fabric does not require an entirely new set of skills and training to manage, and solid solutions do exist," said Zeus Kerravala, founder ZK Research.
